Biography

Experience with consequences.

Experience with consequences.

Kirk has led engineering, procurement, project management, and construction across SunEdison, Tesla Energy, FTC Solar, and Recurrent Energy. At SunEdison, he led more than 1 GW of utility-scale solar construction and over $1 billion of capital responsibility. At Tesla Energy, he deployed commercial-scale battery-storage projects behind the meter in California.

As Managing Director of EPC at Recurrent Energy, Kirk built the project and construction-management organization and raised $500 million from BlackRock to execute against it. He has also led operations for a hyperscale data-center power district, engineering a standardized, repeatable 50 MW power block through reliability analysis and locked design decisions.

Before energy, Kirk spent more than a decade in semiconductor manufacturing, supporting fab customers including Intel, IBM, TSMC and Samsung. He later built pilot and production lines for a solar-cell manufacturer and was awarded a U.S. patent for thin-film photovoltaic manufacturing.
